ZHANG Cun

Zhang Cun is an Associate Professor and Ph.D. Supervisor at the School of Energy and Mining Engineering, China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing). He is a recipient of the Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award from the Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics and Engineering, an elected Fellow of the International Association of Advanced Materials (IAAM), and a participant in the Youth Talent Lifting Project of the China Association for Science and Technology. He has been listed in the top 2% of global scientists in 2022 and 2023 by Stanford University. He serves as the Associate Editor of the SCI journalJournal of Geophysics and Engineeringand as an editorial board member forSustainability. Additionally, he is a youth editorial board member for several excellent journals recognized by the China Association for Science and Technology. Dr. Zhang has led eight national and provincial-level longitudinal projects. His accolades include a national-level award for outstanding science popularization activities, four second prizes and one third prize for scientific and technological progress at the provincial and ministerial levels, as well as an industry association award for teaching achievements and three first prizes and five second prizes for scientific and technological progress. He has published over 180 papers, with more than 90 as the first author (or corresponding author), 10 of which are highly cited ESI papers. Furthermore, he has authored four monographs and has been the first inventor with over 10 authorized invention patents. He mainly engages in research on mine pressure and rock control, utilization of mine water resources, coal and gas simultaneous extraction, and reuse of abandoned mines.
